Celebrity Denim - Kate Winslet / J Brand Jeans
It seems like you can't release a movie at the moment unless it has Kate Winslet in it. All the King's Men, Little Children, Flushed Away and The Holiday are all out between now and Xmas. That means lots of photoshoots for Kate and it would appear that her promotional uniform of choice includes a pair of J Brand Jeans. Here she is looking rather elegant in a pair of J Brand 14" Cigarette Leg Jeans in Ink (see above) and a little more windswept (after continued) in the same pair in Jett.

Fidelity Denim's Spring 07 Line
Fidelity Denim Designer Jason Trotzuk has decided that whilst dark indigo denim might be good for the Autumn/Winter season by the time Spring comes around people will be ready for something fresh and new. His next denim line is inspired by the "rich blue-toned pallets found in nature’s landscape" ie light blue. The range includes skinny 80s looking denim (see above) as well as all the usual suspects - straight, bootcut and flare.

Jude Law's Denim Crimes

Jude Law, Actor
Unacceptable Denim
Can someone please have a word with Jude Law.
Last week I pointed out that if you are the wrong side of thirty and male you should not be wearing skinny jeans. Jude obviously disagrees because this week he has managed to shoehorn himself into an even tighter pair. Denim like this should come with a government health warning - "
ONLY TO BE WORN BY YOUNG SKINNY GUYS WITH GUITARS".

Celebrity Denim - Jessica Simpson / Frankie B

Jessica Simpson used to love her
True Religion Jeans however since she split up with Nick Lachey she seems to be favouring
Frankie B Jeans. Here she photographed leaving Il Sole Restaurant in Hollywood last week wearing a pair of
3” Straight Jean Junkie in Cordon Bleu. Even though jeans/boots combo is one of my favourite looks right now it's hard to actually focus on anything in these photos other that the puppies that are fighting to be released from her blouse.

Celebrity Denim - Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson was always a cutey but since she split up with rocker Chris Robinson she has obviously been spending a lot more time in the gym and has officially been promoted to the status of hottie. I know that dark and skinny jeans are oh so hip at the moment but she's doing just fine rocking the hippie/rock chick look in her favourite pair of
Grass Laurel Cosmos Jeans.

Celebrity Denim - Britney Spears

Britney Spears' dress sense always strikes me as a bit of a
car crash, by which I mean even though you know you shouldn't you can't help staring. Here she is looking pretty trim considering she has squeezed out two kids in as many years, however her choice of jeans is another matter entirely. These
Diesel Jeans are giving me bad acid (the wash, not the drug) flashbacks to the 80s, a time when denim was routinely abused by all kinds of chemicals in the name of fashion. Perhaps she should take some advice from old boyfriend and new denim designer
Justin Timberlake.

Levi's Eco "Green" Jeans
Levi's have released details of their forthcoming Eco environmentally friendly jeans. The cotton is organic and will come from Turkey, the jeans themselves will also be manufactured in Turkey to cut down on transportation costs. Other details include a coconut shell button, no metal rivets, natural dye and a recycled cardboard label. All of this treehugging stuff doesn't come cheap, the jeans will cost in the region of $250 in the US and £140 in the UK, although there are plans to release cheaper versions eventually. You can call me an old cynic but I think Levi's probably care more about their bottom line than the environment and the launch of these jeans probably has more to do with the current fashion for all things organic rather than any real corporate desire to save the planet.
