The good news is that you don't have to be a celebrity to get such special service, it is in fact available in all Earnest Sewn store. Eleanor Ylvisaker of Earnest Sewn has been good enough to explain what exactly happens when you decide you want a pair of tailor-made jeans:

"A customer would come in and meet with one of our denim experts. The first step is to try on our existing fits (ie. Boot-cut, straight leg, tappered leg). Once the customer establishes the fit they want they are taken to our custom area to go through a book of limited edition super specialty small shuttle loop denim options. Once he or she picks the denim, they are shown a variety of thread color options, back pocket options, locker loop color options, pocket bag lining options, and hardware options (including Earnest Sewn buttons and rivets in a selction of finishes and Japanese novelty buttons and rivits). After all these selections are made the customer signs their order form. Their signature gets's embroidered into the inside pocket bag lining when the jean is complete. It typically takes about two weeks to get the finished jean and it costs between $700 - $900."
