J. Lindberg mixed faded blacks with clean dark resin indigos for a more subdued take on a couple of the key looks for the season at their recent catwalk show in Berns. A cuffed jean here and discreetly-patched rip there combined with chic tailored blazers and overcoats for an understated street/heritage style.

Acne AW09 At Fashion Week by Berns

Elegant trouser shapes, textures and dark wools & velvet fabrics from Acne for AW09. For the Scandinavian masters of understated cool this qualifies as a romantic rock & roll statement. Mixed in with dark resin denim for men and mid grey denim for women are charcoal flannels, high waists, loose volume and pleated peg legs in both men’s & women’s styles. This creates quite a contrast with the Russell Brand-esque vinyl skinnies.

Cheap Monday Fall 2009 Collection

Cheap Monday's Fall 2009 catwalk show was held at Fashion Week by Bern in Sweden last week. Their collection featured a selection of harcore shredded and patched denim that will help ensure they maintain their position as the go-to brand for affordable fashion forward denim.

Maison Martin Margiela 2009 Men's Collection

Maison Martin Margiela made a name for himself last year by producing a range of shredded women's denim which help kickstart the current trend for ripped denim. The Fall 2009 men's collection was an altogether more subtle affair with a small range of snug-fitting jeans that had been treated to produce some interesting new textures.
