Carlos Miele Spring 2010
Expect some new choices at Carlos Miele next spring. "I really wanted to focus on separates this season," the designer said, "and I also used a lot of black." Miele has built a global brand centered mostly on dramatic colorful chiffon gowns. However he did offer a couple of denim options to his spring line. Check out his sexy denim hot pants and the one pair of jeans presented. Hopefully he will give us more. It would be lovely to see another haute couture brand give us uber designer denim besides current top denim dog Balmain.
Genetic Denim Spring/Summer 2010 RTW
Genetic Denim presented their best-selling jean -- the denim legging -- with finishes such as crocodile embossed and a great basic blue with metal-mesh-exposing rips. The lightweight denim also used to create drapey sweatpants, shorts and even hoodies - apart from more conventional jeans.
Charlotte Ronson's Denim for Spring 2010
Charlotte Ronson's line this season can be summed up as such: prepare haute couture tulle, acid-washed denim, studs, and shoulder pads. Now meticulously drape said fabric, hammer said studs and sew said denim together and behold! A brilliant, edgy girly-girl line fit for a moto-princess. Charlotte Ronson's newest line is created for the pretty in pink ballerina turned frou-frou downtown tough! Well done Mrs. Ronson!
Also in attendance for Charlotte's show were brother Mark Ronson, he sat in the audience. Her little sister walked in the show. Her socialite momma sat along side her brother and twin sister Sam spun on the Ones and Twos for the gig.
William Rast Jeans SS 2010 Men's Line
During Fashion's Night Out in the Saks bridal lounge, Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala presented their SS 2010 William Rast line and explained that they would not show at Fashion Week this season due to the fact that this season's collection aren't the kind of clothes cut out for a catwalk. Not that that's a bad thing. Timberlake says the models loved the collection. "If they were bullshitting us, they should all go into acting," he said.
Here's a preview of the new William Rast Spring line, which offers a slightly softer edge. But you should still expect lots of black. Timberlake and Ayala are giving fashion fans some good new$; the entry-level price point is about 10 percent lower this season than last!

The William Rast Women's Spring line carries a "sexy tomboy with a lot of class" feel with a slightly softer edge. Less studding and a lot of bondage lacing, less black and a lot more color. The patchwork jeans were replaced (thank god) with denim leggings, and there were plenty of the cropped leather jackets. Timberlake and Ayala are giving their customers exactly what they want. Here is the good new$: the entry-level price point is about 10 percent lower this season than last!

Rag & Bone's Spring/Summer 2010 collection featured a structured but relaxed look. Jackets, long-john jeans, leggings, and skinnies all came down the aisle in what else, but our favorite textile - denim.
