Bryan Park is filled with retail optimism as brands show their Spring 2010 collections in New York. Monarchy Jeans (who make a full collection not just denim) showed both their men's and women's lines for Spring. Distressed takes a turn for the sexy at Monarchy where the skinny jean cut holds center court. The very wearable collection has a resort feel to it and is very Americana.
Gilded Age Spring/Summer 2010 Ready to Wear
Designer Stefan Miljanic strayed from the common Fashion Week theme of rocker styled denim, featuring instead a picnic theme to display his Gilded Age SS 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection. With a garden-party feel, we like the clean look of the jeans and comfy shirts for guys.
Erin Wasson x RVCA Spring 2010
Erin Wasson showed her collection for Spring 2010 and her take on denim gives us great choices, whether destroyed or vintage inspired sexy jeans are paired with sexy flowing tops. Wasson, who is beautiful either on the catwalk herself or presenting clothes on it has did a great job in 2009 with her RVCA collaboration and 2010 is greatly influenced by her own personal style which in this case is a good thing.
L.A.M.B. Spring/Summer 2010 Collection
Gwen Stefani herself hit the runway as the designer of the L.A.M.B. line (stands for Love, Angel, Music, Baby if you are new) at Fashion Week yesterday. Her Spring/Summer collection featured lots of zippers, layers and lace, and even a little denim. We are loving the boyfriend jeans, and the shorts too! Gwen appeared in what we'll call a "denim suede" jacket. Hey, if Alexander Wang can do "denim leather", Gwen can do "denim suede", or is it chambray? Either way, we like. And has anyone else noticed that the handbags in the line look an awful lot like her original L.A.M.B. for LeSportSac collection which sold out everywhere? Can't wait to see them hit stores!
Resort Collections 2010 Featuring Denim
Denim is playing a major role in the 2010 Resort collections. Taking a queue from the upscale clients desire to incorporate denim in every aspect of her wardrobe designers like Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, Alexander Wang, Helmut Lang and Oscar de la Renta have all incorporated key denim pieces into their resort lines.
