Recording artist Jay-Z performed the grand finale performance at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards wearing a denim jacket under a leather vest and Prps Jeans in Dark Oiled Stained. After the award show he then attended the official MTV VMA after party at his New York City based 40/40 Club minus his Yankees hat.
Babette Pauthier Denim Editorial for Pure Mag
London-based and French-born photographer, Babette Pauthier recently shot a denim themed editorial for Portuguese online magazine, Pure. Denim is done justice in this beautiful blue themed shoot. The pieces involved, are vintage and consist of a cut-out denim jacket, denim prints on soft fabrics and bleached out denim and a denim romper. Babette brings back to me what made me fall in love with denim nearly 20 years ago now, whether the denim be premium or vintage, second hand or just plain economical and from Wal-Mart.
Fashion's Night Out - Los Angeles
Last night Vogue Magazine took a global stance to infuse some much needed capital into the retail industry with Fashion's Night Out. In Los Angeles, Ron Herman opened his doors at Fred Segal and played host to hundreds who came to have a cocktail, listen to music, meet designers and most importantly SHOP! J Brand, which has their boutique within the store had co-founder Jeff Rudes on hand to meet fans of the beloved brand and offer them a buy one get one free denim dream!
While Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz sat and played board games and greeted fans (as well as fellow Melrose Place castmate Stephanie Jacobsen who is so pretty but I didn't get a picture of). Teen Vogue's Lisa Love enjoyed her time with Jeff Rudes and Ron Herman and picked up some J Brand Jeans. I was thrilled to meet her she was absolutely lovely and nice as I hope one day to intern at Teen Vogue! The evening was festive and people were so incredibly nice. Audrina Patridge and her brother Mark hung out and I (and everyone else) was awestruck to see Sidney Pointier there and say hello to everyone he passed by. I met the coolest guy who had a customized Lee Jean Jacket dedicated to The Ramones that had everyone talking to him. All in all it was a beautiful evening where fashion was celebrated by those who create it and those who like me are obsessed with it!
