Celeb Denim Trend - High Waisted Shorts

On of the big denim trends of 2007 has been high-waisted jeans, so now that summer is here it is no surprise to see that high-waisted shorts are big with Hollywood fashionistas. Nicole Richie looks very cute in a pair of sass & bide Hulsey Parks whilst Chloe Sevigny, Kirsten Dunst and Lindsay Lohan have all been seen out in Imitation of Christ high-waist denim shorts.

Lindsay Lohan In Deneer Denim Shorts

I wrote about Deneer Denim last year when I first came across their high-waisted skinny jeans. It seems that they have now picked up a very high profile fan in the shape on Lindsay Lohan who is keen on their Sloucher denim shorts which she has been seen wearing on a numbr of occasions in both the blue and cream versions.

Denim Face Off - Denim Shorts

Summer is on the way and if these photos are anything to go by then it looks like denim shorts are going to be just as popular in 2007 as they were in 2006. Here we have face off between three very famous, young and skinny actresses who were all photographed in denim shorts in the last couple of weeks. When it comes to denim hotpants it is important that they fit well, so Ashley Olsen loses points for wearing a pair that are too big for her. Keira Knightley's shorts don't look to bad it's just the rest of her outfit that makes her look more like a student than a movie star. So by default that leaves Mischa Barton and her denim shorts and boots combo the winner.

Kate Moss' New Denim Shorts For TopShop

Kate Moss launches a new range of clothing for TopShop on May 1st. The Sunday Times had a sneak peak at the collection which includes jeans and denim shorts (shown above) that appear to be modelled on one of her own favourite pairs of denim hotpants (see below)

Lindsay Lohan & Her Denim Shorts

Lindsay Lohan can't get enough of denim shorts at the moment. In the last week she has been seen out in no less than three different pairs. In the photo above she is seen leaving the gym in a slouchy pair of Siwy Denim Camilla Shorts. A couple of days later she wore a different more dressed up pair of shorts to the Genetic Denim First Anniversary Party. The same pair also appeared in a Terry Richarson photoshoot for GQ. And in the final picture below she carrying a copy of Vogue and wearing what looks like a homemade pair of cut offs.

Denim Shorts - Aguilera vs Carey

In many of my recent posts I have pointed out the current celebrity fixation with denim shorts. So far I thought this could only be a good thing. However along comes Mariah Carey on the first night of her World Tour proving that no matter how many stylists you have it is still possible to look like mutton dressed as lamb. It's no secret that Mariah is only interested in clothes that are either too tight or too short or preferably both. To show how far Ms Carey has missed the mark with her daisy dukes why not compare her outfit with the not too disimilar one worn by another multi-million selling Diva - Christina Aguilera.
