Levi's Fenom Denim has put forth their newest release of Five Star Denim. The jeans come in two washes: black or blue raw, with white detailing in traditional Fenom fashion. The line is available through Levi's Japanese online shop. These a quick seller and a popular style with the Japanese youth.
Diesel Releases Paper Denim Cloth
Diesel has recently developed a paper denim cloth. This type of denim is new for the Autumn Winter season and comes in the "Keever" fit, which is slightly carrot shaped.
Cotton paper denim is a light weight resistant denim, dry to touch and completely "natural". The fabric is not only extremely light and breathable, but is also very strong. The particularity of this fabric is the presence of paper weft, which cause the reakings to be so particular and irregular and the denim to have an original stiff touch. You will find the Keever cut in the paper denim cloth available in Diesel stores in August.
Iron Heart's 23oz Selvedge Jeans
Announcing the most intense Iron Heart product ever released, their 5th Anniversary 23oz Jeans! If you thought 21oz denim was heavy weight, you won't believe what this new denim feels like. For Iron Heart's 5th anniversary they wanted a denim that trumped everything else, something so intense that it would take over 20 different versions to get it right. The denim is unsanforized, which is a first for Iron Heart, and is so heavy and rigid that we cannot imagine how amazing it will look with wear. The denim starts out as a rigid 21oz denim, once soaked the true indigo color really comes out and the post-soak weight of the denim becomes approximately 23.5oz, easily the heaviest fabric they've done. Just released yesterday, these are limited to 400 pairs worldwide. You can find them online at Self Edge, retailing at $450, but hurry before they are gone!
Evisu Appoints Scott Morrison as CEO
Scott Morrison, the co-founder of denim brands Paper Denim & Cloth and Earnest Sewn, has been appointed as global chief executive for Japanese denim brand Evisu. Part of his strategy is to get back to the iconic heritage, clarify and simplify the brand message, and improve Evisu's products using designs which will appeal to both European and American markets. Part of Morrison's new duties include moving Evisu headquarters from Hong Kong to New York, and starting expansion into the US market.
I can't wait to see what Mr. Morrison brings to the table at Evisu!
