Tom Cruise In Dior Homme & Katie In J Brand

Katie_Holmes_with_Tom_Cruise_and_Suri_1.jpg
Katie Holmes doesn't seem content with taking over the world's blogs, newspapers and magazines with her daily denim show. Now she has roped in hubby Tom Cruise. Whilst Katie opted for a pair of black J Brand skinny jeans, Tom was snapped wearing a rather snug pair of Dior Homme jeans - a fashion-y brand that I wouldn't normally have associated him with.

Ewan McGregor Advertises Bobson Jeans

Here is a real curiosity - Ewan McGregor in a truly terrible Japanese advert for a denim brand called Bobson. I hope he got paid well for this because it stinks.

Evisu Spring/Summer 2009 Collection

Evisu_Catwalk_01.jpg
The Evisu Spring/Summer 2009 Collection was apparently inspired by the first voyage of the Kanrin Maru, a Japanese ship which sailed from Tokyo to San Francisco in 1860. The jeans featured are made from specially developed selvedge denims, including No13 LEFT, a Japanese reproduction of the early denim used by Lee from the 1910s onwards. (Source: Evisu)

DL1961 - Part Attitude. Part Technology

DL_1961_1.jpg
DL1961 is a new brand that has a promising new angle on a versatile jean: one that molds itself to your curves, no matter what body type you have. Using Invista's new XFIT Lycra, their jeans offer a 360° stretch to give a flattering fit and also prevent sagging. With these jeans, you will get a wonderful fit every time, while also looking sexy and feeling great. This new stretch technology also means these jeans are meant to last, no matter which way you move--or how well your diet's holding up. They are also the first brand to offer jeans with XFIT Lycra for men, so all the stylish males can have the comfort of the 4-way directional stretch as well.

DL1961 was developed to be a chic yet practical jean, marketed as "Part Attitude. Part Technology. Completely Sexy." These jeans come in every style and almost every wash, which can't be said for most denim brands. Many denim heads are always in search for the perfect wash in the perfect style, and DL1961 offers just that. "We want people to experiment with styles they may not have been able to pull off in the past because the four-way stretch works well on a lot of body types" said Will Redgate, the National Sales Director. Clearly, you don't have to be a size 0 model to look fabulous in DL1961's skinny jeans, though you will turn heads in them no matter what shape you are. These jeans can unite and satisfy both the practical buyer and the fashionista because of their sexy style and their lasting comfort and quality.

DL1961 will launch their e-commerce site August 15th. Their denim retails from $150 to $195, and will be available in upscale department stores and high-end specialty shops.

Nobody Denim - For Everybody

nb1.jpg
Australian denim brand Nobody (named for the label's self-reflexive questions on identity) returns this season with subtle variations on straight & boot cuts for men and women. Ladies' standout platinum-coloured skinny jean and guys' faded black wash both scream urban nightlife, as does much of the F/W '08 collection, which also includes a variety of black sweaters and dresses trimmed in gold that give nod to the luxe 80s. Add on cheeky tees that proclaim 'Nobody Lives Forever' and the surprisingly fresh uni-(back)pocket stitching, and it would seem that Nobody is seeking to be somebody.

Nobody's Melbourne design studio and store (keenly named Nothing by Nobody) share space in a remodeled warehouse where bimonthly art exhibitions are held. Not down under? The label is also available in a number of shops worldwide, including Selfridges in London and Fred Segal in LA.
