Denim Brand Of The Year 2009 - Current/Elliott

Current/Elliott appeared out of nowhere to take the denim world by storm. They were first featured on Denimology in June of this year and since then have appeared almost every week as their vintage inspired collection proved especially popular with female celebrities in LA. Their boyfriend style jean (which helped kickstart a global trend) was worn by everyone from Sarah Jessica Parker, Reese Witherspoon and Rachel Bilson whilst their skinny slouch jean was a hit with Kate Beckinsale, Mena Suvari and Gossip Girl's Jessica Szhor.

In fact the only negative thing about Current/Elliott was getting hold of a pair as they were so popular they sold out in many places. Judging by their most recent lookbook 2009 looks to be just as successfull and for that reason Current/Elliott are named the Denim Brand Of The Year 2009.

Denim ID - Interactive Fashion Exhibition

Denim ID is a UK blog and interactive fashion exhibtion that will take place on London's "trendy" Carnaby Street in the near future. The idea behind both projects is that fashion, art and street culture will collide to illustrate the past, present and future of denim. The blog is already displaying a selection of the archive of denim advertising material that they have collected such as these 1980s UK print ads by Wrangler (see below). They are currently welcoming submissions from artists, designers, writers and illustrators and can be reached at denimid@yahoo.co.uk.
