Here's is one of those idea that seems so simple you wonder why no one thought of it before - the Instant Button For Jeans. If your favourite pair of jeans are no longer fitting correctly because you have lost or gained a little weight, then rather than having them take to a tailor to be altered you can now add a new easily attachable (and removable) button and hey-presto you jeans get a new lease of life.
Denim ID is a UK blog and interactive fashion exhibtion that will take place on London's "trendy" Carnaby Street in the near future. The idea behind both projects is that fashion, art and street culture will collide to illustrate the past, present and future of denim. The blog is already displaying a selection of the archive of denim advertising material that they have collected such as these 1980s UK print ads by Wrangler (see below). Photographer David Friedman went behind the scenes of a denim distressing factory in Kentucky to document the people and processes that are involved in producing high-end jeans. The results (which you can see on his website DavidFriedmanPhoto.com) are a beautiful set of photos of uncovering the painstaking work that goes into creating each pair of jeans.
