We thought our readers might enjoy some vintage pictures displaying over 75 years of history from Levi's denim. What a long way we've come, and yet the classic brand is still as fashionable as ever.
Antipodium Collection Spring 2010
Antipodium's Spring 2010 presented us with women of all sizes, opening with Andrej (a modern day Marilyn) and ending with the voluptuous Tokyo (ala Beth Ditto). When asked why he used real, tattooed and curvaceous women in his show, designer Geoffrey J. Finch replied: "Because they have brains. It's an interesting concept for fashion."
Although nothing too original, the clothing presented consisted of cute tarot print skirts, magical forest prints, simple bleached denim dresses, cargo pants and baggy denim jeans and shorts. These clothes are not going to change the fashion world, they're just perfect basics for spring through till summer.
Ashlee Simpson in Levi's Denim Shorts
Ashlee Simpson enjoyed her time with baby Bronx in Los Angeles wearing Levi's cutoff shorts. The Melrose Place starlet keeps it casual with a simple white tank top and sandals. As her new show rounds into week two of airing, the CW has to hope for greater ratings than last weeks debut which averaged a disappointing 2.3 million viewers.
Babette Pauthier Denim Editorial for Pure Mag
London-based and French-born photographer, Babette Pauthier recently shot a denim themed editorial for Portuguese online magazine, Pure. Denim is done justice in this beautiful blue themed shoot. The pieces involved, are vintage and consist of a cut-out denim jacket, denim prints on soft fabrics and bleached out denim and a denim romper. Babette brings back to me what made me fall in love with denim nearly 20 years ago now, whether the denim be premium or vintage, second hand or just plain economical and from Wal-Mart.

Every picture tells a story and what we've learned this week is the upcoming Sex and the City 2 film includes flashback scenes. Pictured here is Kim Cattrall in all her 80's glory. Knowing the genius that is costume designer Pat Field, this could be a vintage 80's denim vest as we saw Sarah Jessica Parker in vintage denim earlier this week or a Levi's vest . Either way I'm loving how much fun she's having in her outfit!
